If you are a reader like me, then there is already a queue of books to read in your kindle, and a pile of hardcovers and paperbacks on your table. In my case I have a few piles. Plus a few lists in my phone. And now Goodreads is telling me to update all my stuff for the year end snapshot and there is no way I finish all of these books.

But time is precious during the holidays, and taking the time to sit and read is a gift to yourself. But what book will be worth your time? I always stand by the books that I post. But lately I have been getting some amazing(!) recommendations from a lot of friends. So I thought I'd share this great recommended list.

I empirically trust the judgement of each person that gave me the books on this list. I hope it is helpful for your shopping - for others or for yourself. Enjoy!

Since it is that "back to school" time of year, I thought I would share some books that are more like continuing education rather than my usual fiction.

Many of these have come from being a member of the Marketing Roundtable here in Atlanta, which is housed at Georgia State in the Robinson College of Business. It is one of the longest running Marketing Roundtables in the country, and its goal is to bring together the top marketing officers of some of the largest firms based in Georgia. When Goodreads asked me to set my reading goal for 2024, I said 24 books. My logic was this: that’s two books per month, and I thought that would be an aggressive number since I have a busy job, I have a lot of activities in the community, and I'm a soccer mom. So...imagine my surprise when I got to the end of the year and saw that I had actually read 35 books in 2024! Now this total also includes some that are work-related, but still!

The best part of summer is floating in the pool and reading the day away. I look forward to it all year. I have been reading a LOT this summer, and many of you have asked me for suggestions of what to read on your trips.

I am currently reading "The Spectacular" from Fiona Davis, whom I love. I've been waiting for this book for months, plus is takes place in New York and I am always up for a book set in my hometown. The same goes for "Same Time Next Summer" by Annabel Monaghan which took me back out to the Hamptons that I love and miss.

"The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise" was super fun as it takes place in my new hometown, Atlanta. And "The Paris Daughter” from Kristin Harmel I could NOT put down.

I have been reading a lot this year. Some of it is pure entertainment, some of it is research for the historical novel I am working on, and some of it is just because there are so many good books piling up on my nightstand. Nothing makes me happier than curling up with a good book, a cup of tea, and a snuggly kitty. Since many of my friends know how much I like to read, I am often asked for recommendations, especially during the Summer or for Fall road trips. So I thought I'd share a list of some of my favorites so far this year. As seen in the photo(s) above, and in no particular order (other than the order in which I read them), here is my list so far for 2022. Those with an asterisk are mysteries for my mystery lovers. And if you are looking for a good mystery, I would also add to that list two books I ready last year that were awesome! It's not crazy hot and humid outside anymore, and the Fall seems to go on for ever. I sit outside on a chaise with the dogs, sometimes with a light throw blanket, and a mug of tea and I could sit there all day. As they say, "You can't read ALL day....unless you get started early in the morning."
