I learned something when I made these sandwiches. I learned that everybody loved them., .and that the longer they sit with the dressing on them, the yummier they get. These are perfect for packing for road trips, picnics, or a day at the beach. Growing up in New York, I would call this kind of sandwich a sub, but I learned that there are other areas in the Northeast (CT, RI, VT, NH, MA) that would call this a grinder. Which somehow sounds fancier like it was a lot of work - which it wasn’t. But just so everyone gets what it is, I’ve decided to call it both a Sub and a Grinder. Either way - it’s awesome. Turkey Club Grinder Sub Sandwich
Ingredients: For the Grinder Slaw:
For the Sandwich:
Preparation: Step 1: Whisk together all of the slaw ingredients up until the salt and pepper. Then mix in the red onion, pepperoncini, and lettuce. Set aside. Step 2: Slice the loaf (or rolls) in half lengthwise. Step 3: On one side of the roll, layer the slices of turkey, provolone, tomato slices, and the bacon slices. Step 4: On the other side of the roll, hollow out the bread in pile it high with the grinder slaw mixture. Step 5: Slice the sandwich into 4 pieces if using the long loaf of French bread, or cut the smaller rolls in half. Enjoy! Comments are closed.
