Beach Vacation Essentials

3/2/2025

I am happiest when I am near the water, so we definitely do a lot of beach vacations and getaways.  Here is a list of my essentials for a great day at the resort pool or beach:

1. This Scout Weekender bag is actually the perfect beach bag.  It is waterproof, holds everything, has a separate pocket for valuables, and is super lightweight. It folds flat in your suitcase and can double as a carry-on if needed.

2. These microfiber beach towels are the bomb. Nothing sticks to them, and they dry quickly.  They are perfect for a cruise or boat trip, but also for a day at the beach.

3. I always travel with a Turkish towel, especially if its a resort vacation. I can use it to hold my spot by the pool, it dries quickly, and it can double as a sarong.

4.  Sunscreen Bag: I always keep all of the sunscreen altogether in a see-through bag inside of the beach bag. It makes it easier for everyone to find everything, and keeps the kids from emptying everything onto the beach went I ask them to go get the sunscreen. Plus its super cute.

5.  I love this Coola suncreen for hair and scalp. I always try to keep my hat on, but sometimes you just a little more help.

6.   I swear by Wet Brush for detangling my fine hair, and this mini-one is great for the beach bag.

7.  Depending on where you are going, and how safe you feel you may or may not be, a travel safe may be a good call. This one from MasterLock has served me well.
