Pink Sweetie Valen-tini Mocktail

This Valentine's mocktail is all about fun. The heart-shaped ice cubes have edible glitter, and the rim is covered in pink strawberry frosting and pink sprinkles. You can top it off with club soda, seltzer, or a pink soda of your choice. I feel like Dolly would really like this one.
Pink Sweetie Valen-tini Mocktail

INGREDIENTS:
  • White cranberry & strawberry juice
  • Heart-shaped ice cube tray
  • Edible glitter
  • Whipped pink frosting (Strawberry is ideal)
  • Pink Sprinkles

PREPARATION:

​
1.  Use the white cranberry & strawberry juice to make heart -shaped ice cubes. Freeze overnight.

2.  Coat the rim of a coupe or martini glass with the pink strawberry frosting, and then coat in pink sprinkles.

3.  Place three of the heart shaped ice cubes into the glass, and top with sparkling beverage of your choice (pink soda, club soda, or seltzer).

Valentine's Mocktails

Here is a pretty mimosa or mocktail for Valentine's Day. The secret ingredient is the glitter ice cubes. These heart shaped ice cubes can be made with pomegranate or cranberry juice with edible gold glitter. I was able to find a heart shaped ice cube tray at Homegoods, but I know they have them on Amazon as well.
Valentine's Mimosas

INGREDIENTS:
  • ​Heart-shaped ice cube tray
  • Pomegranate Juice
  • Edible Glitter
  • Prosecco, or for a mocktail use Seltzer or Club Soda

PREPARATION:
1.  Pour the pomegranate juice into the ice cube molds, and sprinkle with the edible glitter. Freeze overnight.

2.  To serve, place three of the pomegranate ice cubes in a flute, and top with sparkling beverage of your choosing.

Valentine's Lemon Drop

The Lemon Drops I made at Christmas were a tremendous hit with everyone, so I was excited to find a recipe for a Lemon Drop just for Valentine's Day.  This drink recipe is not complicated, and by adding pink sugar to the rim you can rally dress it up a bit. Enjoy, and Happy Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Lemon Drop

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz orange liqueur
  • 3/4 oz strawberry syrup (store bought or homemade*)

PREPARATION:
1. Dip the rim of a coupe glass in simple syrup and then firmly place it on a small plate covered in sugar. Ideally pink sugar. Place the glass in the freezer to set.

2. Add the vodka, lemon juice, orange liqueur, and strawberry syrup to a shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled.

3. Strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with 3 fresh strawberries (cut into heart shapes) on a skewer.

* Homemade Strawberry Syrup:

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 strawberries - halved
  • 1/2 cup water

PREPARATION:
  1. Add all three ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Once the berries are soft, mash them gently to release the juice.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Remove from the het and allow to cool completely before straining.
  6. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.

Galentine's Cosmo

Every woman who lived vicariously through, and loved,  "Sex & the City"  loves to order a Cosmo. SO why not create a special cosmo just for Valentine's Day? And this one includes raspberries as a departure from all of the strawberry focused Valentine's cocktails. This cocktail is made for Girl's Night, Mahjong, or a "Sex & the City" binge watch.
Galentine's Cosmo

INGREDIENTS:
  • 14 raspberries (10 for muddling and 4 for garnish) 
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz orange liqueur
  • juice from 1/2 lime
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz white cranberry juice

PREPARATION:
  1. Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice, and shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass
  4. Garnish with four raspberries on a skewer.

Galentine's French 75

I love all the pretty in pink drinks that circulate around Valentine's Day. And I always like a French 75, so I knew this one would be a favorite. This one is as easy as can be. And although the pink edible glitter is optional, it's really not.  This cocktail really needs to sparkle.
Galentine's French 75

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 strawberry syrup (either store bought or homemade*)
  • sparkling wine
  • pink edible glitter (optional)
  • Strawberry cut into a heart shape for garnish

PREPARATION:

1. Add gin, lemon juice, syrup, and glitter to a cocktail shaker

2. Add ice, and shake well until chilled.
