I have the travel bug.
And I love the food, art, and culture that goes along with it.

About Me

I'm Kris - a food, book, and travel enthusiast and part-time blogger.  The pandemic changed us all in so many ways.  For me, it was painful to not be able to travel and explore our world and other cultures. But I could still escape with books.  In fact, just three years ago I made a pledge to give myself permission to take more time to read and not feel guilty about the chores that need to be done. So as you might imagine, I read a lot that year, and every year since. But I also had more time to focus on myself and on my family. While I have always enjoyed cooking and entertaining, this time to reflect is how I discovered my joy of baking and cooking organic, healthy meals that even little ones will eat (most of the time) and that can be cooked in 30 minutes. (unless stated otherwise).

When I am not baking, reading, or on the Peloton working off the carbo-load of food that I just made, I can be found at my day job as a marketing executive in the Atlanta metro-area.  As proud graduate of the Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University where I earned my MBA, I am honored to mentor women there through the Women Lead program. I currently serve on the board of the Center for Family Resources, I am active in the Cobb CHamber of cCOmmerce serving on the steering committee for CObb Executive Women, the annual hamber campaign, and on various committees for Leadership Cobb. I have previously served on the board of the Women's Philanthropy Network (WPN) - a committee of the GSU Foundation Board to raise money for key programs and scholarships, as well as the board of the Swift School in Roswell, GA that works with students overcoming dyslexia, of the Devereaux Behavioral Health Center in Kennesaw, GA.

I am a proud Breast Cancer Thriver, a wife, and mom. I'm also Dog Mom to Buddy, Winston, Coco and Chloe and Cat Mom to George, Titan, and Bruce. Yes, my house is loud.  And I love it!
